Creating a Safe, Respectful and Positive School Culture at Dillbadin Primary School
At Dillbadin Primary School, we believe a positive school culture lays the foundation for student success. That’s why we use the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework to help create a learning environment where every student feels safe, respected, and ready to learn.
Through SWPBS, we teach and model clear expectations for behaviour across all school areas. Our students learn exactly what positive behaviour looks like and are recognised and rewarded when they demonstrate it.
Here’s how it works:- Clear expectations are set and taught in every classroom using our Behaviour Matrix.- Positive behaviours are reinforced with value tokens when students show kindness, responsibility, respect, or resilience.- When a class fills their token tube, they earn a leaf for our whole-school reward tree, along with a fun, student-chosen class reward!
This system builds a strong sense of community and helps our students develop the social and emotional skills they need to thrive at school and beyond.
At Dillbadin, we focus on the positive because we know that students can achieve amazing things when they feel supported and valued.
Why do we do this?Because it’s important for students to feel proud of their great choices—and to have fun while learning and growing!
