Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Dillbadin Primary School.  We are excited to announce that our school has undergone a rebranding! This change reflects our commitment to better serving our students, families, and the community. Rebranding is not just about a new logo or updated colours—it’s about embracing new values, a refreshed vision, and a renewed dedication to providing the best educational experience possible.

From the start of 2025, Boronia West Primary School will now be Dillbadin Primary School.

This rebranding is a positive step forward for the school, and we’re excited about what lies ahead. We invite everyone in the community to be part of this exciting journey and continue supporting the school as we grow and evolve together.

I am proud to serve as the principal of this wonderful school, having joined the team in 2023. In my time here, I’ve seen many exciting and positive changes that have helped shape our school for the better.

  • Our newly appointed Assistant Principal, Neisha Gange, will focus on the wellbeing of our students and staff. With a strong dedication to creating a positive and supportive environment, our new AP will work closely with teachers, students, and families to ensure that everyone—both students and staff—has the resources and support needed to thrive, emotionally and mentally. Neisha’s focus on wellbeing will help foster an even stronger, more connected school community. Our new building houses four classrooms, an art room, a general-purpose space, and a maker space (where the kitchen can be used).
  • Our new outdoor facilities and space include a basketball court, a sand pit, paths connecting the main entry and the new classrooms, grassed areas, and our new school fence, which will be relocated to the perimeter of our site.
  • The School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework is integrated across all aspects of the school’s culture and operations. Using this framework, all staff focus on acknowledging positive behaviour and explicitly teaching our behavioural expectations.
  • We have a speech pathologist and a counsellor working on-site one day a week. We also have The Unconditional Love Foundation attend fortnightly, which provides an animal-assisted wellbeing program with Leah and Scout.
  • In 2023, we reintroduced camps and excursions for our students. Our Grade 4/5/6 attend camp at Blackwood Outdoor Education Centre and our Grade 2/3 attend camp at Garfield North Outdoor Education Centre.
  • We’re confident that our dedicated and capable team is precisely what our students need to succeed academically and personally. Our staff is more than just a group of educators—they’re mentors, role models, and partners in each student’s journey. Together, we’re building an environment where every child can flourish. We’re proud of the staff we’ve assembled, and we’re excited to continue working alongside our families and the community to ensure that every student gets the best possible education and support.

At Dillbadin Primary, we are proud of the values guiding everything we do—Respectful, Safe, and a Learner. These values are the foundation of our school culture and shape how we interact with each other, both in and out of the classroom. They also guide our behaviour management approach, built around the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Framework. By taking the time to understand each child’s unique needs and learning styles, we can create the most effective and supportive learning environment possible.

A Well-Rounded Education for Every Child

In addition to core subjects like literacy, numeracy, history, and geography, we offer specialist programs in visual and performing art, physical education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and Auslan (Australian Sign Language) as our school language. Our students are already expanding their skills, learning everything from fingerspelling to full phrases and sentences.

Working Together with Families

At Dillbadin, we believe in the power of teamwork. Our teachers collaborate closely with each other and families to support every child’s learning journey. We encourage parents and carers to stay connected and involved through communication with teachers, participation in classroom activities, or joining in fundraising and working bee events.

Academic and Social-Emotional Growth

We are committed to supporting every student's academic and social-emotional development. We want all our children to grow as learners and as responsible, caring members of the school community. Our friendly, welcoming environment ensures students feel safe, valued, and excited to attend school daily. Our motto, “Growing Through Learning,” perfectly reflects our mission to help each child reach their full potential.

Personalised Learning and Support

Thanks to our small class sizes, our dedicated, expert teachers ensure that each student receives the individual attention they deserve. We offer specialised literacy and numeracy programs to meet the needs of students who need additional support or those who are ready for extension. Every child is given the tools and resources to succeed, regardless of their starting point.

I am incredibly proud of the work our students and staff do together and would love for you to join our Dillbadin community. We invite you to come and experience firsthand how our values and approach to learning make our school such a special place. Let’s grow together through learning!
