All students at Boronia West Primary School attend Visual Arts classes in the art room for a 1 Hour session each week. The Visual arts program encourages the development of imagination, creativity and skills in students by exploring ideas and experimenting with a range of art elements such as colour, shape, line, pattern, texture, space and form. The elements of Art that the children engage in over a year are painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, threads and textiles, constructions, modelling and collages.
The children have an opportunity to explore and experiment to express their individuality and find their authentic artistic voice. They are encouraged to discuss, problem solve, plan and develop ideas, self-evaluate and respect each other’s creative work. Their pieces of artwork are presented and displayed for others to observe and enjoy throughout the school and the wider community.
